Please check these in order.
Lower Settings → Traffic display → Congestion threshold. The default is 2.0, and anything lighter than that is not drawn. The lower the value, the lighter the congestion that will show.
Check that Settings → Weather → Show weather is on. To keep data use low, weather refreshes every 10 minutes, or when you have moved more than 10 km. It will not change immediately after you move.
That is Auto Zoom. The map shows a wider area as your speed increases, so you can see further ahead. You can turn it off under Settings → Zoom. With it off, the scale you set by hand is kept.
Panning the map by hand turns off automatic following. Tap the location button at the bottom right to resume.
No. The app is built to keep the same scale in portrait and landscape. If you see it change, please let us know.
While driving, the app continuously reads your location at high accuracy, so battery use is significant. We recommend using it while charging. These settings reduce it somewhat:
No. Road Aware shows what is happening around you on a map. It has no route planning and no voice guidance.
Distance, speed and temperature follow your device region automatically (km or miles, °C or °F). There is no unit setting inside the app. Change it under Settings → General → Language & Region → Measurement System.

Traffic and weather information is based on data obtained from external providers. We do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or up to the minute. Always follow the actual road signs and traffic regulations.
Do not operate your device while driving. Pull over somewhere safe before changing settings.
